The Story of The Vineyard - A Community Church
The Vineyard - A Community Church is one church with two campuses. We have one campus located in Kingston, Massachusetts, the other is located in Hyannis, Massachusetts.
The church got started in 1985 when Senior Pastor Don Andreson, his wife Nancy, and their four children moved to the Kingston area to plant a church. Starting out by hosting Sunday gatherings in a large "Round Room" attached to their own home, the church body grew quickly and expanded into progressively larger facilities in town. Eventually the church built it's own facility complete with sanctuary, offices, classrooms and meeting spaces. Today this facility is known as the Kingston Campus.
In early 2002 the church sent out a planting Pastor and team with the vision to start a new church in the Hyannis area. The plant flourished and the church became established as the "Mid-Cape Vineyard". In 2009 a shift in strategy coinciding with the emergence of a sucessful "Multi-Campus" model of church growth, led to the Hyannis church becoming a second campus of The Vineyard - A Community Church.
How it Works on Sundays:
Whether you attend the Kingston Campus or the Hyannis Campus, each week you will experience dynamic, contemporary, live worship music, a bible-based message you can apply to your real life, and real people who will warmly welcome you just as you are.
Both campuses start their meeting with a full band playing live worship music. This is followed by the sermon/message. If you are at the Kingston Campus you will hear the message live as it's preached "in-person". If you are in Hyannis, the message will come as a "streamed broadcast" via projected video. After the message, you will have the opportunity to receive personal ministry time (where you can be prayed for by people at your campus). After the service is concluded, we all usually hang out and socialize in the cafe areas before heading out.
And then there's this website...
This website is the online "Hub" of The Vineyard - A Community Church. Each campus has it's own website for event calendars, staff information, schedules etc. But this website is where the whole church can experience community online through things like the blog, sermon archives, photo sharing and more.
